WHY IS HOWARD UNIVERSITY LIMITING STUDENTS’ CONTACT WITH PROFESSOR IAN ISIDORE SMART?

The University unilaterally reduced Professor Smart’s spring semester teaching load from three to two courses. Predictably, there are some 300 students seeking places in Professor Smart’s Introduction to the Humanities course. The University is now planning an emergency measure of opening three new sections to handle the eminently foreseeable “overflow” of Professor Smart’s students.

This will add an extra $15,000.00 to the University’s deficit. It will leave scores of dissatisfied students who had paid their hard earned cash and waited patiently for a chance to sit in one of Professor Smart’s classes.
